Community Events

CORONA UPDATE - All events on hold until madness subsides.

Making space with art, Dead On defines the culture that surrounds it. The gallery is the meeting point of experience, providing a door into the world of creatives and inviting the community to live out loud with us. Join us for gallery openings, artist talks and movie nights. Keep track of our upcoming events by stopping by the studio, Saturdays, subscribing to our mailing list and keeping up with us on Facebook and Instagram.

EVENTS

Drink & Draw
Every Third Thursday of Every Month

Our Drink & Draw events are an opportunity to socialize with peers in the Kingston's art scene. An opportunity to share the projects we are working on, network and collaborate. and drink beer.

Our goal is to unify the professional emerging artists in Kingston. Tattoo artists and apprentices, illustrators, muralists, painters, animators, graffiti writers, designers, sculptors, and whatever else, we all have something to share with each other. The emerging artist community in Kingston is fragmented. We hope to change that.

We strongly believe regular drawing benefits all art practices. All skill levels and professional art practices are welcome, as long as you are willing to draw and are serious about your craft.

The ability to communicate an idea is the foundation of all art making. A willingness to experiment and stray from comfort in art is more beneficial to the communication of an idea than the ability to render a subject photo-realistically. The same is true in drawing.

Join us in bolstering an progressing the art scene in Kingston!

Evan's Critiques
TBD

One of our valued members, Evan Ginsberg, has often said that the thing he misses most from university are the critique sessions. We agree and we think that Kingston's art scene is overdue for some constructive critique. We intend for these sessions to be like we had in university (but maybe slightly more laid back).

For those who aren't familiar, these critique sessions are a time for the the class to critique each-others work (finished or in progress). One at a time the group moves from one art piece to another talking about what works, what doesn't, asking questions about the work, providing constructive suggestions and listening to the artist talk about what their intent was and what they would like to achieve.
